1st birthday teddy bear party
A 1st birthday's is a milestone that you have to celebrate with a party! The teddy bear picnic is an easy to set up party theme and good for indoors or outdoors.
Drinks and snacks
Teddy bear cupcakes: I can't take any credit for these cupcakes, I ordered them from Nana's Fancy Cakes, they were yummy.
Bear sandwich: Use a bear cookie cutter to make bear shaped sandwiches. This works best if the bread comes straight out of the freezer. Spread some peanut butter on it. Create eyes with raisins and a nose with a banana slice and raisin cuts.
Fruit stick: Watermelon is great to create shapes from. As it is soft you can easily press out any shape with a cookie cutter. Add some other seasonable fruit cubes and put them on a skewer.
Teddy bear cookies: A packet of Teddy Graham's honey cookies
Gummy bears: A packet of Haribo gold-bears
Decoration
Teddy bears: You probably all have some stuffed teddy bears lying around the house. You can use them for decoration and the kids can also play with them. Ask the kids that come to the party to bring their own teddy bear.
Colours: Going with a colour theme makes the planning and decoration for your party easier. For this party I choose pink, white and red as I still had a lot of stuff lying around the house in these colours, which saved us some money. The Kids Club in Phuket has a great variety of party supplies.
Blankets and cushions: Put cushions and pillows on the floor so your guest can comfortably sit.
Birthday crown: A birthday crown can be easily made out of craft foam. Templates and instructions can be found on FirstPallete.com
Give aways: A little teddy bear is the perfect gift for the kids to take home. Add a note with the text 'a big bear hug for you' and a small packet of Haribo gold bears.
